Let’s be honest: 2023 has been a challenging year on a global scale, which of course, trickles down to the personal level. We haven’t been great about keeping in touch. But we didn’t want to break tradition, and besides - reflecting on what we’re grateful for always helps to put things in perspective. So here is our annual blog - a little late, but no less sincere.
10. We are grateful for our third annual roadtrip through Uttarakhand.
It’s officially become tradition - and we feel so lucky that we’ve been able to take a family roadtrip three years in a row! In case you missed it, check out the blog here.
9. We are grateful for the schools we continue to work with.
Student groups provide a level of fun and a glimpse into another generation. We are lucky that we get to introduce so many young people to the river.
8. We are grateful to be able to introduce people to kayaking.
Our Beginners Kayak Sessions are always good.
7. We are grateful for NOLS India.
Anvesh worked for NOLS India in both the Spring and Fall semesters in Uttarakhand. Working with student groups is not only teaching but also learning. (Pic: Nanu Mehra)
6. We are grateful for work flexibility and for running new rivers.
In Anvesh’s second summer season with Momentum River Expeditions, he was fortunate to run new rivers including: Lower Owyhee, Cal-Salmon, and the Upper Klamath.
5. We are grateful for an epic river trip with friends.
Another new river Anvesh got to explore was the Chilko in B.C., Canada. He came home with stories of good friends, grizzly bears, salmon runs and bald eagles.
4. We are grateful for clients who know what they want.
These good folks knew that they wanted to come on a Ganga Three Day trip and that they wanted to come with us. Their trip was a blast - we’re so grateful they chose us!
3. We are grateful for people who recognize the value of our work.
From stellar online reviews to well-written blogs, we are always honored when someone takes the time to write about us. In case you missed this blog at Painted Circle, do check it out here.
2. We are grateful for friendship.
We lost two friends to the river this year: Max Benetton and Stanzin Tanzin. May they rest in peace.
1. We are grateful for YOU.
We say it every year - but it’s always true: you are what keeps us going. We thank you all for your friendship and support. We’d like to send a special shout out to our families this year, who have been steady pillars of support. Thank you! We wish you all the best for 2024 and look forward to our next opportunity to connect.
